Datapoint: Alignment Healthcare Sees $57 Million Loss in 1Q21

In its first quarter as a publicly traded company, startup Medicare Advantage insurer Alignment Healthcare reported a $56.9 million loss. Founder and CEO John Kao said the company exceeded expectations. As of May 2021, Alignment currently enrolls 83,586 members in California, Nevada and North Carolina. That’s a 32.1% increase from May 2020.
