Datapoint: Anthem, Kroger Team Up on MA

Anthem Inc. and Kroger will partner on new Medicare Advantage products in 2022, according to a report in Becker’s Hospital Review. While few details are available, an Anthem spokesperson told Becker’s the two orgs “share the goals of improving access to cost-effective care, driving transformative improvement to health outcomes, and simplifying the healthcare experience.” The plans will be available in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Louisville, Ky., and southern Virginia. Anthem is the top MA insurer in Ohio, with 254,945 members, No. 2 in Kentucky (71,782), No. 4 in Virginia (42,949) and No. 6 in Georgia (30,259).
