Datapoint: Banner Health/Aetna Combo to Enter Arizona ACA Market

Phoenix-based health insurer Banner|Aetna, a joint venture of parent companies Banner Health and CVS Health Corp.’s Aetna, will enter the Arizona Affordable Care Act exchange marketplace for the 2022 plan year, according to an Aug. 4 press release. The Banner|Aetna plans will leverage Banner Health’s provider network, while offering no- or low-cost visits and services at CVS retail locations. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona is the current exchange market leader in the state with 67,000 members, 40.2% of the enrolled population.
