Datapoint: BCBS of Massachusetts Partners With Caremark

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is offering a suite of new benefits in partnership with CVS Caremark for the 2023 plan year, according to a Nov. 1 press release from the insurer. Members will have access to no-cost generic drugs for conditions including depression, diabetes, high cholesterol and heart disease, a cost-sharing assistance program, pharmacy advisors and an expanded diabetes care program. Appointments with provider at CVS MinuteClinics will also be available at no cost. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is currently the largest insurer in its home state, with 2,222,530 members. 38.2% of its members are enrolled in commercial risk-based plans.
