Datapoint: Biden to Order Special ACA Enrollment Period

President Joe Biden last week signed an executive order that will open a special enrollment period for HealthCare.gov, the federal platform for the Affordable Care Act exchanges, from Feb. 15 to May 15. The President said the action will address the loss of employer health coverage amid the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the latest update to AIS’s Directory of Health Plans, 11,320,950 people are currently enrolled in the ACA exchanges.
