Datapoint: Bright Health Plots Large Expansion for 2022

Startup insurer Bright Health says it will enter 42 new markets for the 2022 plan year, according to an Aug. 17 press release. New state markets include California, Georgia, Texas, Utah and Virginia. Notably, Bright Health will be the first new insurer to enter California’s exchange market in six years. Bright Health currently enrolls 500,853 members, with 98.8% enrolled in individual commercial risk-based products.
