Datapoint: Centene Completes MagellanRx Sale

Centene Corp. last week completed its sale of pharmacy benefit manager MagellanRx to Prime Therapeutics, the PBM jointly owned by 19 Blues affiliates. Centene first acquired MagellanRx in January 2022, following its purchase of Magellan Health. The company is also in the process of selling off another Magellan asset, Magellan Specialty Health, to Evolent Health as it continues a value creation plan spearheaded by CEO Sarah London. Centene is currently the fourth-largest insurer in the U.S., serving 17,144,851 lives.
