Datapoint: Centene Rejoins Ohio Medicaid With $88M Settlement

Following an $88.3 million settlement with the state over mismanaged pharmacy benefits, Centene Corp. is back in Ohio’s good graces, scoring a renewed Medicaid contract for 2022. Beginning in January, Ohio is transforming its Medicaid program, focusing on price transparency and person-centered care. The six other participating MCOs are AmeriHealth Caritas, Anthem, Inc., Humana Inc., CareSource, Molina Healthcare and UnitedHealthcare. Ohio currently serves 2,876,222 Medicaid beneficiaries, with 91.8% enrolled in a managed care plan.
