Datapoint: Cigna Expands ACA Coverage to Texas

Cigna Corp. last week unveiled plans to expand its Affordable Care Act exchange products to Texas for the 2023 plan year. Initial offerings will be available in the Dallas and El Paso areas, with benefits including $0 deductibles and 24-hour telehealth. Centene Corp. is currently the exchange market leader in Texas, with 388,697 members, followed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (370,000 members) and Bright Health (283,000 members). Bright Health is exiting all exchange markets in 2023, presenting a considerable opening for other insurers.
