Datapoint: Cigna Plots Rebrand

Cigna Corp. is switching up the company’s brand names. Its holding company will become The Cigna Group, while its insurance division will be rebranded as Cigna Healthcare. The other major business unit will be Evernorth Health Service, housing “pharmacy, care and benefits solutions” including Express Scripts, Accredo, eviCore, MDLive and myMatrixx.” Cigna is currently the fifth-largest commercial risk-based insurer in the U.S., with 2,553,000 members in that segment. In total, Cigna serves 15,640,961 medical lives.
