Datapoint: Cigna to Enter Pennsylvania Exchange Market

Cigna Corp. will offer health coverage through Pennie, Pennsylvania’s state-based Affordable Care Act exchange for the 2022 plan year, according to a news release from the state. The plans will be available in five counties, including Philadelphia. Independence Blue Cross is currently the exchange market leader in Pennsylvania, serving 105,291 lives, about 34% of the enrolled population. Meanwhile, Cigna currently enrolls 324,230 exchange members in 10 states.
