Datapoint: Florida Adds Three More MCOs to Medicaid Program

Florida has revised its most recent Medicaid contract awards, adding three additional payers — Aetna, Molina Healthcare and UnitedHealthcare — to the program. All three are incumbents, but were not initially granted bids in April. AmeriHealth Caritas, Sentara and CareSource, meanwhile, were not selected. Current contracts are set to expire at the end of 2024. Florida currently serves 3,294,445 beneficiaries via Medicaid managed care, with Centene Corp. leading the pack at 41% market share.
