Datapoint: Humana to Enter South Carolina Medicaid, Duals Market

Humana Inc. has been selected by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to serve the state’s managed Medicaid program, as well as Healthy Connections Prime, a managed care initiative for Medicare-Medicaid dual eligibles. Humana will join South Carolina’s five other Medicaid MCOs beginning July 1, 2021. South Carolina’s Medicaid managed care program currently serves 899, 401 beneficiaries, with AmeriHealth Caritas leading the pack at 41.0% market share.
