Datapoint: Nevada Bill Floats Public Option Insurance

The Nevada state legislature recently introduced a bill that would use existing infrastructure for the state’s health exchange and Medicaid program to bring public option insurance to all Nevadans. The uninsured rate in Nevada is relatively high at 11.5%, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. Nevada’s Medicaid programs currently cover 725,411 beneficiaries, while its Silver State Health Exchange enrolls 55,696 lives.
