Datapoint: North Carolina Senate Approves Medicaid Expansion

By a vote of 44-2, an effort to bring Medicaid expansion to North Carolina passed through the state Senate last week. But the move will likely face hefty opposition in the state House of Representatives, according to reporting from the Carolina Journal. Governor Roy Cooper (D) is in favor of expansion. The state currently serves 2,211,279 Medicaid beneficiaries, with 74.2% enrolled in managed care plans.
