Datapoint: Oscar Closes Gates on Florida Open Enrollment

Citing “strong open enrollment performance to date,” startup insurer Oscar Health stopped accepting new exchange members in Florida on Dec. 13. The move will not impact current Oscar members that have yet to renew coverage for 2023. Oscar is currently the second-largest exchange insurer in Florida, behind Florida Blue, with 600,000 members. Fellow startup insurer Bright Health is pulling out of the Florida market in 2023, leaving its 275,000 members to find new coverage.
