Datapoint: Priority Health to Acquire Indiana Plan

Priority Health, a Spectrum Health-owned provider-sponsored health insurer which serves more than 1.1 million members in Michigan, has agreed to acquire Physicians Health Plan of Northern Indiana, an insurer which serves 52,290 beneficiaries in Indiana. The companies expect the deal to close by the end of the year, pending regulatory approvals. The companies “do not expect significant changes to product lines and member coverage as a result of the transaction,” according to a June 19 press release.
