Datapoint: SCAN, CareOregon to Combine

CareOregon and SCAN Group, the parent company of California-based SCAN Health Plan, said on Dec. 14 that they will combine “as a mission-driven not-for-profit healthcare organization under the name HealthRight Group.” SCAN currently serves 273,357 Medicare Advantage and dual eligible members in California, Arizona and Nevada, while CareOregon covers 533,013 managed Medicaid and duals members in Oregon. The companies said they expect the deal to close in 2023. Financial terms of the deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, were not disclosed.
