Datapoint: South Dakota Weighs Medicaid Expansion
Following a successful petition, South Dakotans will officially see Medicaid expansion on the November 2022 ballot, according to state documents. Just 110,234 people currently receive Medicaid coverage in the state, though that’s a significant increase from a pre-COVID total of about 88,000 lives. South Dakota is one of a handful of states that continues to facilitate Medicaid benefits using a fee-for-service model.
