Datapoint: Kentucky Tosses Medicaid Contract Awards

After finding flaws in the bidding process, including a potential conflict of interest in favor of Molina Healthcare, a Kentucky judge threw out $8 billion in Medicaid contract awards and is ordering the state to rebid them. Kentucky’s managed Medicaid program currently enrolls 1,625,479 people, served by six MCOs. A spokeswoman for the state said they are in the process of determining next steps.
