Datapoint: ACA Special Enrollment Period Reaches Nearly 1M Sign-Ups

The Biden administration on April 30 reported that more than 940,000 people have signed up for coverage through HealthCare.gov since Feb. 15, the beginning of a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) designed to mitigate the effects of economic losses from the COVID-19 pandemic. The SEP is set to run through Aug. 15. According to the latest update to AIS’s Directory of Health Plans, 11,042,077 people are currently enrolled in the ACA exchanges.
