Datapoint: Oscar and Cigna Expand Co-Branded Plans

Cigna Corp. and startup insurer Oscar Health on April 8 said they are expanding their co-branded small group products to new regions in California, including Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and greater Sacramento. The plans integrate primary medical, behavioral health and pharmacy benefits, and offer a 24/7 telemedicine service. Both companies share equal risk for their small group offerings. About 11.8 million people are currently enrolled in small group plans, with Cigna and Oscar both holding relatively small shares of the market, at 37,323 and 16,923 lives, respectively.
