Nicole Hill

Project Manager

As a Project Manager on the Client Delivery Services team, Nicole Hill manages client implementations of MMIT’s promotional and core solutions from kickoff through completion. She is passionate about delivering exceptional client experiences through collaboration, trust and communication.

Tell us a little bit more about your role.

Essentially, I partner with clients to guide them through the entire implementation journey, from planning and configuration to testing, and go-live. For the past four years, I’ve focused on MMIT’s promotional suite, including FormTrak (both Web and Veeva), Coverage Search, and Coverage Finder, while also supporting implementations across our core solutions.

My role is to ensure the implementation runs smoothly, which involves a lot of coordination across our internal teams and our clients’ teams. I solve problems, manage timelines, and make sure our clients feel supported from the first kickoff call until their product goes live.

How did you join the company? What in your background brought you to pharma?

I’ve actually been in the pharmacy industry since I was 18, when I started as a pharmacy associate in retail pharmacy. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow through a variety of roles, from retail and long-term care pharmacy technician to pharmacy software support and account management, before ultimately transitioning into implementation project management. I found MMIT through a LinkedIn post back in 2022 and thought it was a natural fit because I already had a deep pharmaceutical knowledge base.

What does your day-to-day usually look like?

Every day is different, but I typically spend a lot of time in client-facing meetings, including project check-ins and touch points. Internally, I collaborate with teams across MMIT through project huddles, risk assessments, and mitigation discussions to proactively address roadblocks and keep implementations on track.

I also work closely with our Client Success and Product Teams, sharing insights and feedback gathered throughout client engagements. Our clients provide valuable input on what’s working well and where there are opportunities to enhance our solutions, and we bring that feedback back to our teams to help shape future improvements and the product roadmap.

Over the past few years, I’ve also enjoyed mentoring colleagues who are new to our team or growing into project management roles. I’m passionate about finding ways to improve our processes, increase efficiency, and help our teams deliver the best possible experience for our clients.

What are some of the larger projects you’re working on?

Many of my clients have complex implementations involving multiple solutions, so those tend to be some of my larger projects. Currently, I’m supporting one client through the launch of a new drug extension and partnering with another large pharmaceutical company that recently acquired a new brand, helping them transition their solutions from a previous company into their new environment.

One of my favorite client engagements was with a customer that purchased our promotional solution suite for six of their products. We partnered together for over two years, and it was incredibly rewarding to build that long-term relationship and develop such a strong rapport with their team. I also had the opportunity to work closely with their phenomenal Client Success Manager, Kim Smigiel, which made the experience even more impactful.

What are some of the common challenges of your role?

Balancing multiple priorities is always a challenge. Whether it’s an urgent client need or a tightened timeline, I strive to keep all these internal and external tasks moving—and everyone aligned on next steps. Coordinating with different high-level stakeholders across pharma companies can also be a bit of a challenge.

I’m always mindful that our teams are balancing priorities across many projects, not just mine. I may have 10 projects in progress, but the teams I partner with may be supporting 30. I focus on building strong relationships, communicating clearly, and ensuring my projects stay on track while respecting everyone’s competing priorities.

One of the things I appreciate most is how well our cross-functional teams collaborate. We work together to find solutions, support one another, and maintain a positive, approachable attitude even when managing multiple priorities and tight timelines.

What’s been your career highlight to date?

Our Client Delivery Services team came together in person this year, and I was honored to receive an award from my colleagues for exemplifying one of Norstella’s principles: kindness, empathy, and grace. It was completely unexpected, and it was incredibly meaningful to receive that recognition from my peers.

Even though I’m not in a formal leadership role, I genuinely want the people around me to succeed. I make time to connect with colleagues, help them feel confident in their work, make sure they have the resources they need, and encourage them to take advantage of growth opportunities. Receiving that award felt like my colleagues were saying, “We see you, and we appreciate you,” which was incredibly special.

Is that the company principle that resonates most with you?

Yes. I do think that kindness, empathy and grace are really important, because we have to remind ourselves to see things from others’ perspectives. Showing grace to another person can really change the trajectory of their day.

Everything changes so quickly, from technology to data to the processes we use, and none of us have all the answers. We’re all focused on getting our work done, but if we act in an unkind manner, we can negatively impact other people—and also the business.

What trends are you seeing right now that MMIT is in a unique position to help with?

Everyone’s talking about AI all the time now, but there’s a difference between bolted-on AI and AI capabilities built for the industry. MMIT is in a position to revolutionize how our clients use data by simplifying queries that are increasingly complex, whether those are across market access, reimbursement, or another area. AI is making our solutions more user-friendly and effective, but it’s also emboldening our clients to ask questions they hadn’t even thought to ask before, because analyzing the data was beyond them.

What would you tell someone just starting their career with MMIT?

Throughout my career, I think the best advice I’ve gotten is to not be afraid to ask questions. I know it’s a cliché to say that ‘no question is a dumb question,’ but it’s true. Asking questions is how you learn, build confidence, and expand your knowledge. If you take advantage of opportunities to grow your own experience, you’re going to do well here. Our team is willing and able to support you as best we can.

It’s also important to be curious about what’s going on in the company, not just within your role, but as a whole. That helps you connect all the strands of what we do and fully understand the value MMIT brings to the industry.

What do you like most about working at MMIT?

What impresses me most about MMIT and Norstella is the culture. I’ve been out in the working world since I was 15, and I’ve never seen another company that has such a strong emphasis on culture—and that follows through on what they promise. The people here are incredible, all the way up to our leadership. I’ve worked in environments where you feel heavily managed, but at MMIT, we’re trusted to do the work, take ownership, and demonstrate what we’re capable of.

Also, it’s really exciting to work so closely with pharma companies that are just launching their brands and bringing important therapies to patients. Their teams are so passionate about getting their product out there to the patients who need it, and being able to set them on a path for success is super rewarding.

For many of our products, especially the promotional suite, we’re meeting with clients every week for six to nine months, helping to prepare their sales teams. When they come back to buy another solution from us, and specifically ask if I can run their project, that’s when you know you’ve built a relationship based on trust and delivered real value.

What do you like to do outside of work?

My husband and I live in western New York on a lake, and we love to do anything outdoors or on the water. We like to go out on our boat with our two older pit bulls, who absolutely adore it. They also love to hike. My husband is a motorcycle enthusiast, so we also ride his Harley. Aside from that, my main hobby is reading, especially historical fiction.
